General Motors Co. this week announced a $10 million investment for its Swartz Creek Customer Care and Aftersales building to improve operations, with work expected to be completed by the fall.

The investment includes information technology upgrades, a new security office, health facilities, employee training center and UAW offices, adding 10,000-square-feet to the warehouse and making upgrades to paint systems. GM said the funds also will go toward a facelift for the administration building with a brick front and lawn area.

No new jobs will result from the renovations, GM spokesman Bob Wheeler said.
