Ford is introducing the next generation of its collision warning system that can tell a person from a telephone pole and if a collision appears imminent the car will warn the driver and apply the brakes if necessary to avoid a crash.

The first use of automatic braking for the Ford brand will be on the 2015 Mondeo that is about to go on sale in Europe and the new collision warning system will eventually roll out across the lineup as vehicles are redesigned. It will be an option on the Mondeo. Pricing has not been released.
