Chrysler Group LLC said CEO Sergio Marchionne will travel to Kokomo, Ind., next week to "announced investments and jobs to boost transmission manufacturing in Indiana."
The Auburn Hills automaker already has a transmission factory in Kokomo. In December, Chrysler announced plans to invest $162 million in a former Getrag Transmission factory in nearby Tipton. The mayor of Tipton is scheduled to be present at the event on Feb. 28, along with Indiana Gov. Mike Pence.
Chrysler said its Tipton expansion would create about 850 jobs.
