Recently we had the opportunity to ride shotgun in a few pre-production examples of the 2015 Mustang around Ford’s Dearborn Development handling course. While there’s no substitute for actually driving the new Mustang ourselves, a test-ride did offer a glimpse into what we can expect once we're allowed behind the wheel.

Mustang GT: The V8 exhaust note from this latest 5-liter engine is just about perfect -- it's not overly invasive, but the cammy growl lets you know a monster lives under the hood. While the Ford course and supplied drivers were speed-limted, acceleration was fantastic. Never did the driver seem restricted by the car, and manipulating the shifter appeared effortless.
