The heavily anticipated 200 isn't just Chrysler's last resort at making a proper mid-size luxury sedan. As it turns out, more than 17,000 people ordered the model in the first two days since it was launched, with 10,000 orders registered in the first 24 hours alone.

Laying the groundwork for the future of the Chrysler brand in the United States, the 200's order book opened on Thursday, May 8th, with much enthusiasm coming from consumers that want the best this segment offers.

“The Chrysler brand is thrilled to see the level of enthusiasm customers and dealers have shown to order the all-new 2015 Chrysler 200,” said Al Gardner, the CEO of Chrysler.

Thanks to its standard ZF nine-speed automatic transmission, choice of two powertrains with fuel economy ratings of up to 36 miles per gallon highway, an all-wheel drive system and an upmarket interior, the new model is raising the bar for what American motorists should expect from a mid-size sedan.
