American Automakers Urge House to Act on Semiconductor Funding Initiative

Washington, D.C. – American Automakers Ford Motor Company, General Motors and Stellantis today applauded the U.S. Senate for passing vital funding to address semiconductor shortages in the U.S.

“U.S. auto manufacturers need dependable access to key components like auto-grade semiconductors.  We applaud the U.S. Senate for passing this vital funding to grow production of American made semiconductors.  The funding will incentivize advanced chip production and the auto-grade chips that American Automakers and its workers need to remain competitive in the global market, while strengthening our nation’s economic and national security.  We urge the House to pass this critical manufacturing initiative before adjourning for August recess,” said Governor Matt Blunt, president of AAPC.

The American Automotive Policy Council (AAPC) represents American Automakers Ford Motor Company, General Motors Company and Stellantis. AAPC is a Washington, D.C. association representing the common public policy interests of its member companies.
